Description

This course (course number A521) follows on from the Foundation course, and makes use of presentation, discussion, demonstration, and a lot of hands-on exercises to cover the more advanced aspects of FIM 2010, and put consultants in a position where they are ready to deploy the software. Students will find it an advantage if they can read simple Visual Basic code, but this is not an absolute pre-requisite. Where code is used, the emphasis will be on the need for code and how it fits into the overall architecture, rather than on the programming details.

Price is per delegate and excludes VAT where applicable. Use currency selection box top right to select GBP, USD, EUR.

Thanks for your support and thanks for this course which fitted well my needs. Being able to study at home was really useful for me!

How does Online Training work?

Sign up and you will be assigned a primary tutor who will support you through the course (though any of our team are here to help). You will also receive details of how to log on to our training portal, from which you will have access to online lectures and quizzes, and your own virtual machine on which you can do labs. We will send you a full course manual (with lab instructions and valuable reference material). The portal carries details of how to get help and support.

You work through the course modules at your own pace. Modules are split into a series of lessons in the form of Flash presentations. Most of these are followed by labs: you can first watch a demonstration of the lab (if you want) and then try the lab for yourself. When you perform a lab, it will be done on your own Hyper-V image (accessed from anywhere with a broadband connection). If you want a certificate of completion, you will need to answer some question sets, and also make your VM available for us at certain key points (basically at the end of modules) to verify that you have done the labs.

Send an email if you are stuck, or you want further clarification of a concept, or you want to know how to apply a feature or concept to a particular situation. We will respond either by email, or via a one to one online session at a mutually convenient time, or possibly in the form of a more generally available session. Online tutorials and one to one sessions can be done via Skype and Microsoft Shared View (or have a landline available).

  • 4 weeks’ access to online lectures
  • 4 weeks’ access (from date of first log on) to Hyper-V virtual machine
  • Course manual sent by surface mail
  • Email support for the period of access
  • One to one sessions as necessary
  • Course Certificate (see note below)

To receive a certificate of completion, you will need to correctly answer some question sets, and make your Virtual Machine available for review to verify that you have successfully completed the labs.

If you have any further question about how the course is run, please contact us, or view the overview presentation here.
