Provides automatic documentation of an MIIS installation

OCG Documentor Tool
Provides automatic documentation of an MIIS installation

Free version with upgrade fee for enhanced capability (upgrade licensed per project)

The OCG MIIS Documentor provides fast, accurate, automated documentation for an MIIS deployment. Reading the MIIS configuration, including custom extensions source code and custom content such as diagrams , it generates a report that would take many consulting days to reproduce. Any changes in the MIIS configuration can be speedily reflected in the report by re-running the Documentor.

We now have a single version which is free to download and use. The free functionality will provide documentation for AD, ADAM and Galsync management agents. To extend your MIIS documentation to include other management agents you will need to purchase a release key for each project.

The tool is free to download and an example project is available for demonstration:

To provide additional documentation for your project, you should purchase a release key. Each project requires a release key (extended functionality is licenced per MIIS installation). In order for us to generate one for you, we first need you to generate a "release file" which you upload to us. This is easy to do - simply follow the instructions in the help documentation. Release keys can be purchased online here:

The OCG MIIS Documentor tool:

  • Provides semi-automated documentation of your MIIS installation
  • Provides an Integrated report which includes all management agents and metaverse configuration details with built in cross references (hyperlinks)
  • Extracts source code from the installation's Visual Studio projects and inserts at the appropriate points in the report
  • Produces a document which is readable and can be easily distributed
  • Can be used as part of an iterative development process
  • Will detect and warn of configuration errors and anomalies

The MIIS documentation can be customised via a control file which enables you to:

  • Insert word documents into the report at specified locations to add context-specific information such as descriptions and diagrams
  • Insert sections of content from other text files, this for instance would allow you to include code details which may not be detected by the documentor
